I'm in the process of uploading a live show; have done several before and all has gone fine ... this show is quite large (3 CDs when de-flac'ed and burned) the first 15 files uploaded fine, but the last three just won't upload: my ftp client shows a completed upload when the last 3 files are incomplete, when I try one at a time the first one will upload partially then signal complete, then next ones won't even start ... is there a file # or cumulative files size limit on each subdirectory/upload? I seem to be running into some sort of limitation ... the subdirectory is lf2000-05-27.aud.flac16

addendum: 3 times now I've tried to complete my upload, and each time the process stops (incomplete) when the cumulative size of the objects in the directory reaches 514,490kb ... is there a ~.5 gb limit on each upload subdirectory? if so, what do I (we) do about larger uploads?

Hi,

No, there isn't a size limit - we've got movies on the archive that are 4+ GB. I'm not sure which item you're having trouble with, since you have 3 checked out right now, but are you able to check the item back in? That might be the best course.

Check the item in, fill out the information, and then once it's up you can check it back out again and finish adding your files. That's what I would try, personally. Let me know if you aren't able to check in.

Alexis

I wonder if it has to do with the 3115 server (which has been the subject of some discussion in the last couple of days? I'm now in the midst of re-trying it; having restarted the entire process I've been assigned to another server. so far so good ...

hah! when in doubt, seek the simple answer: the CD from which I was downloading the files was blistered; the last 4 files were totally roached. those just happened to be the four files that refused to transfer, giving the illusion that the ftp was failing at the same approximate point in data volume.

problem solved. well, answer arrived at anyway ...
